Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield—Lost Origin

The newest Pokémon TCG expansion offers stunning art, exciting gameplay mechanics, and more.

The Lost Zone returns to the Pokémon TCG in the Sword & Shield—Lost Origin expansion. Giratina ripped apart the very fabric of space to create a rift into the Lost Zone. Many cards, including Giratina V and Giratina VSTAR, will take advantage of this exciting mechanic. While cards placed in the Lost Zone are out of play for the rest of the games, strategic players can make the most of this new opportunity.

Celebrate the bonds between Pokémon and Trainers with the Trainer Gallery—a subset of cards featuring art that captures this unique relationship. From humorous to heartfelt, the Trainer Gallery shares unique moments between iconic Trainers and their beloved Pokémon.

Deck Hints And Tips

Distortion from the Abyss!

Use Lost Vacuum and Colress’s Experiment to swiftly fill up your Lost Zone. Once you’ve got at least 7 cards in there, you can use Mirage Gate to power up Giratina VSTAR’s Lost Impact attack, which puts even more cards in the Lost Zone! This will prepare you for the finale of your strategy, Star Requiem. This amazing VSTAR Power can instantly Knock Out your opponent’s Active Pokémon, even if it’s at full health! Pay special attention to your available resources, though—you want to secure victory before all of your Energy cards wind up in the Lost Zone!

Lost Mine, Their Loss

Shiftry’s powerful Tearing Gust attack does 210 damage, enough to score a Knock Out on many Pokémon V and even leave your opponent’s Pokémon VSTAR hurting. Once enough of your Shiftry (and the Pokémon they evolved from) have found themselves in the Lost Zone, Sableye’s Lost Mine attack can bury your opponent’s Pokémon in damage counters to clean up any that may have weathered your Shiftry’s earlier assault. Banette’s Puppet Offering is another way to put cards in the Lost Zone, and it also helps you reclaim crucial Supporter cards, like Colress’s Experiment.

One Rotom’s Trash Is Porygon2’s Treasure

Rotom loves only the finest Pokémon Tools it can find—as long as they’re fresh from the discard pile! Its Scrap Short attack does 40 damage plus 40 more for each Pokémon Tool card you put in the Lost Zone from your discard pile. Once you’ve zapped a ton of Tools into the Lost Zone, picking up more along the way with Tool Box, channel that effort into Porygon2’s Garbage Attack!
